Yaz aylarından bu yana benim için uzaktan uzağa efsaneye dönüşen Battlestar Galactica dizisinin peşindeydim. Evin ordaki dvdciye aylarca her gün geldi mi dvd'lerim diye sordum. Üç sezonu birden istiyordum çünkü..
Geçen ay başı geldi ve beklediğimden de iyi, tek kelimeyle inanılmaz çıktı. Gerçeklik duygumu kaybettim bu diziden sonra, bir dizi bu kadar iyi olamazdı. Her bölümü her anı dolu dolu.. Ya cidden niyetim diziyi anlatmak değil, güzelliği bozulur her cümlemde.. Ben sadece Battlestar Galactica dizisinin amirali William ( Bill ) Adamanın bazı sözlerini yazacağım.. Olur da bir gün izlerseniz hatırlarsınız ve o anlara daha dikkatli bakarsınız.. Unutulmaması gerekenleri yazmak da benim görevim bir yönden..
emeklilik konuşmasından. hazırladığı klişe konuşma yerine teması bu laf olan efsane bir konuşma yapmıştır. dizinin tüm özeti 25 snde verilir :
"but we never answered the question "why?" why are we as a people worth saving? we still commit murder because of greed and spite and jealousy, and we still visit all of our sins upon our children. we refuse to accept the responsibility for anything we've done, like we did with the cylons. we decided to play god, create life. when that life turned against us, we comforted ourselves in the knowledge that it really wasn't our fault, not really. you cannot play god and then wash your hands of the things that you've created. sooner or later, the day comes when you can't hide from the things that you've done anymore."
Eski düşman yeni dostun sorusu şu şekilde cevaplanır :
sharon agathon: how do you know? i mean, how do you really know that you can trust me?
william adama : i don't. that's what trust is.
başka bir konuşmada bütün ekibine şu şekilde seslenmiştir :
"it's interesting. betrayal has such a powerful grip on the mind. it's almost like a python. it can squeeze out all other thought. suffocate all other emotion until everything is dead except for the rage. i'm not talking about anger. i'm talking about rage. i can feel it. right here. like it's gonna burst. feel like i wanna scream. right now, matter of fact."
oğluna bir keresinde şöyle bir ayar vermiştir :
william adama : every man has to decide for themselves which side they are on.
lee adama: i didn't know we were picking sides.
(walks off)william adama: that's why you haven't picked one yet.
ama başka bir konuşmada rütbe farkını bir kenara bırakıp baba-oğul gibi konuşmuştur :
lee adama: you know, sometimes it feels like the whole ship thinks starbuck would do better.
william adama: i don't.
lee adama: how can you be so sure?
william adama: 'cause you're my son. get some rest, you're gonna need it.
ben bu adamdan, bu dizi karakterinden, hatta ilk defa bir dizi karakterinden bu kadar çok şey öğrendim.. Hepimiz öğreniyoruz ayakta durmayı, ama bill adama gerçek olmasan da cidden katkıda bulunuyorsun. Nasıl adamsın anlamadım ki..
